Mrs. Susan Anderson

Hello! 2011 - 2012 will be the start of my nineth year at New Haven Elementary. I can't believe how times flies. It must mean I'm having fun and enjoying what I'm doing. Working with the faculty, staff, parents and students at New Haven is truly a pleasure. I'm looking forward to the new year! 

While at New Haven I've also taught first grade, a combined first and second grade class, a combined Kindergarten and first grade class and Kindergarten.

I began my teaching career soon after I graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. I taught Kindergarten at a private school in Lexington.

Before moving to Walton I lived in Nashville, TN. While in Nashville, I taught for 9 years at Whitsitt Elementary. At Whitsitt I taught several different grade levels (Kindergarten - 3rd) and was also a Title 1 Coordinating Teacher.

In Nashville I attended Belmont University where I received my Master Degree in Education with an emphasis in Gifted Education. After that I attended Cumberland University where I received my Rank 1 certification (30 additional hours beyond a Master Degree).

My husband Bob and I have a cat Lucy and we enjoy supporting the Tennessee Titans, the Cincinnati Reds, gardening, reading and traveling.
